I use knowledge and experience to explain what is happening during each stage of childbirth. I'll help explain risks and benefits of any procedure presented to the laboring mother and partner, so that they may make informed decisions.
The benefits of a doula are numerous and well documented. Shorter labor and less need for interventions such as forceps, vacuum extraction, and cesarean are among the many benefits of doula assistance.
I support the mother in her choices, and do not have any other agenda. I do not perform medical tasks, and will not make decisions for you. I will assist in getting all information you may need. I will offer support, pain management techniques, and will advocate on your behalf during your entire birth experience.
I offer several birth doula services: The doula package, placenta encapsulation, photography, belly casting & more. The doula package cost is dependant upon the services you request, however, the standard package includes the following.
(Barters and payment plans are available. It is my belief that every woman deserves a doula, and no one will be turned away for financial reasons.)

*24/7 On-call status starting at 38 weeks
*Continuous labor support beginning either at home or hospital
*Postpartum support to facilitate bonding and nursing
*24/72 hour phone calls to ensure that needs are being met
*4-6 week home visits
*24 hour phone help
*Birth story written documenting your birth experience
*Additional services available upon request
Placenta Encapsulation is dehydration of the placenta into capsule form for ingestion. It prevents 'baby blues' and PPD, increases milk supply, among many other benefits. The fee for placenta encapsulation is $200. To learn more about this service, please see details on the following page.
